Brett Aerobicizes by David D’Aguano
★★★★I wasn’t prepared to like this book as much as I did. Imagine my surprise when I engaged with the character and actually enjoyed the read. Of course, you must know at the outset that Brett Cornell is a rapscallion who says and does what he wants to. But there is a glimmer of hope – he does have scruples after all, even though you are prepared to dislike him.
Like all rogues and villains Brett is a bit over the top. As you read the story (which does have a good storyline and plot) you can’t help but like the man. Even though he is so different and uncut, there’s a spot in your heart that just knows he’s genuine and maybe has some problems deep down that he needs to deal with. I think I’ve known a few Bretts in my life and once I got to know them I was glad I did.
Give this book a read. It’s entertaining and hard to put down. But don’t let me catch you with a smile on your face. Come on, you know you want to. Brett just may be a habit you can’t kick!
